Juck Juck Grunzie is a psychedelic noise-rock band from Seoul, South Korea. Marrying irregular rhythms and chaotic soundscapes with a driving punk-rock ethos Juck Juck Grunzie’s music explores the boundaries between dreams and nightmares to create something dark, mysterious, and hauntingly beautiful.The band erupted onto Seoul’s underground scene in 2007 as four-piece all-girl post-punk outfit performing “Hairspray Queen” at a Nirvana. cover show. After playing the show clad in nothing but their underwear Juck Juck Grunzie established themselves as force in the alternative scene in traditionally conservative South The band has emerged as one of the most prominent band in Seoul’s Hongdae scene (the center of sub-culture in S. Korea). They have performed with a number of international touring bands in Korea such as American indie act Tera Melos, Japan’s Moja and Australia’s Dead Farmers as well. Last summer Juck Juck Grunzie were invited for a main stage performance at Korea’s biggest music festival Jisan Rock Festival which was headlined by indie-music legends Radiohead that year. Recently Juck Juck Grunzie won the “Excellence Award” from EBS TV’s Hello
Rookie televised concert series and are currently in the studio completing their as of yet untitled full-length album due out on Loose Union and Gogol Records this fall.
